In Memoriam In Memoriam THE UNION WORKHOUSE I compiled this in memory of all the hundreds of thousands of poor destitute souls who came through the gates of these institutions with hunger stricken bodies and pleas for help, only to be met with more starvation, back breaking labor, disease and death. These buildings still stand, a grim reminder of the suffering they harbored in their walls. The very ground and stones are stained with the tears of the people, and their wails can be heard in their halls. May their souls rest in peace. Sandy T. 102982262
